Petition to withdraw from the Green Deal
Heads of Government of the European Union Member States
Ladies and Gentlemen,
As citizens of the European Union countries, we would like to remind the governments of the EU member states of the reasons why the European Community was established. One of the overriding goals of the establishment of this international organization was to realize the common aspiration of the peoples of Europe to ensure security and prosperity. Meanwhile, the European Commission (un-elected by, and outside the democratic control of the citizens of EU member states), prepares a series of successive directives and regulations motivated by the ideology of climate-ism, which are forcing millions of European families into misery and insecurity.

The European Commission’s climate goals are most likely unachievable, but they certainly generate enormous costs of implementation, which will be borne by hundreds of millions of Europeans, forced to make costly investments and futile sacrifices. The most prominent, among the many negative consequences of the EU policies collectively known as the European Green Deal will be the destruction of competitiveness of the European economy, expected fines on individuals for keeping their homes warm, imposing unnecessary taxes on transportation, eliminating domestic agriculture or restricting individuals’ ability to travel. Its stated goal is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030 relative to 1990 levels, and to be achieve zero emissions by 2050. These goals exceed the European Union’s actual capabilities and, what’s equally important, even if achieved, they would not significantly reduce global emissions allegedly causing the global climate change, since EU countries are responsible for only a small fraction thereof.
The greatest challenges facing Europe today, apart from the war raging in the East, include the ban on registration of combustion engine vehicles, the introduction of the ETS I and ETS II emissions trading systems (which will directly impact European families) and, finally, the Buildings Directive providing for penalties for failing to thermo-modernize homes. To make matters worse, these are self-inflicted problems which are completely avoidable. Continuing to follow the ideology of climate-ism will cause the impoverishment of European societies by artificially elevating the cost of living and making it impossible to meet such basic needs as providing warmth in winter or preparing meals. Continued attempts to implement the EU’s climate goals pose a threat to the energy and financial security of Europeans. We do not want to see a return to the days when European families were uncertain about their future.
Gravely concerned for the prosperity of our continent and the need to preserve stability and security, we demand that you immediately stop implementing EU climate solutions that impose unnecessary costs on citizens. We also demand that you take steps at the European Council to reverse the ideological course of the European Union on climate issues.

European families are at risk of energy poverty
Millions of families will fall into energy poverty as a result of the implementation of a series of EU climate directives, collectively known as the Green Deal. The eurocrats’ insane plans involve transforming the EU economy to reach zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, in order to combat climate change. All this will happen at the expense of EU citizens, and with no guarantee that it will affect the global climate.
Data from the European Commission shows that in 2023, 10.6% of Europeans could not sufficiently heat their homes. The EU’s climate policy will only increase the cost of living for citizens, especially the price of electricity and heating.
The poorest, who cannot afford investments such as a photovoltaic system, energy bank or heat pump, will have to pay the most.

climate building remakes, for which €2.75 trillion is needed
Directives passed thus far provide for:
Ban on heating homes with fossil fuels
The European Union is gradually going to ban the heating of homes with coal and natural gas. As early as 2030. it will not be possible to build new houses with gas heating. From 2040 on, all families will have to give up gas heating.
Carbon tax on travel
Starting in 2027, fuels such as diesel, gasoline and LPG will be taxed, which will significantly affect public transportation fares and fuel prices.
Carbon tax on home heating
Any family heating with natural gas or coal will be forced to pay an additional carbon footprint tax in excess of the value of the heating resource.
Forced climate renovations
According to the Building Directive, any building that does not meet energy standards will have to undergo thermal remake, and there are severe financial penalties if the owner fails to carry out the modification.
Higher prices for goods and services
Due to the increase in energy costs and forced thermo-modernization investments, the businesses’ operating costs will increase. Consumers will undoubtedly be affected.
Ban on internal combustion vehicles
As of 2035, it will not be possible to register internal combustion cars, which will force consumers to purchase more expensive electric cars, with much less longevity than internal combustion vehicles.
I don’t consent to the Green Deal
How much will we pay for the Green Deal?
The biggest burden the European families will feel is related to the introduction of the CO2 emissions trading system for transportation and heating (ETS2). The system will be implemented gradually, starting from 2027.

Let’s stop this green madness!
Auction system – the poorest will pay
The emissions trading system involves an auction system, which means that various entities have to compete to win the right to emit greenhouse gases. This system forces energy prices up while limiting economic development and making society poorer.
The costs associated with the EU’s climate policy are enormous and will largely reflect on the poorest residents of Europe. The implementation of the European Green Deal will mean an increase in the prices of many products and services, and consequently a reduction in the standard of living of european families, as well as an increase in unemployment and inflation.
It’s not too late yet! We are protesting against the Green Deal!
Although the European Union has already adopted a number of directives introducing the European Green Deal, and more ideologized legislation is being drafted all the time, it is never too late to back out of bad decisions. Many politicians from various countries are criticizing the Green Deal, and support for this direction is declining across Europe.
It is worth remembering that Article 3(3) of the Treaty on European Union states that the European Union “shall work for the sustainable development of Europe based on balanced economic growth and price stability, a highly competitive social market economy.” As EU residents, we have the right to insist on this provision.
Given the above, we are petitioning all European heads of government not to implement any new and to withdraw from already implemented legislation that imposes overwhelming obligations and high climate taxes on EU citizens.
We believe that with public resistance we can block the energy poverty that EU bureaucrats want to serve us.
